Phone and video appointments when remote care is clinically appropriate
Telehealth at Seaford East Medical Clinic can be useful for selected follow-up and review appointments, but not every problem is safe to assess remotely. This page helps patients understand when to ask for telehealth and when an in-person review may be the better choice.
Often suitable for
Results follow-up, medication review, selected mental health follow-up, and appointments where the main issue can be discussed safely without physical examination.
Often not suitable for
Problems that may require examination, urgent worsening symptoms, procedures, wound care, or situations where the doctor needs to assess something directly in person.
Best way to confirm
If you are unsure, contact reception and describe the reason for the booking so we can help decide whether telehealth or in-person review makes more sense.
Common telehealth reasons
- Medication or script review after recent assessment
- Results follow-up where in-person examination is not required
- Mental health follow-up or care-plan review where clinically suitable
- Ongoing chronic disease review that mainly needs discussion and planning
Before your telehealth consult
Keep your phone nearby, have a reliable connection if video is planned, and have medications, recent results, and questions ready so the remote appointment stays focused and useful.
Appointment GuidanceWhen to choose in-person instead
- New symptoms that may need examination
- Skin, wound, or procedure-related issues
- Urgent symptoms that are worsening
- Any concern where remote review feels insufficient
